Terms of service
Build freely. Publish responsibly. Know the boundaries.
These draft terms set the intended product boundaries while final entity, jurisdiction, and paid-service details remain under review.
1. Agreement and pre-launch status
These terms are a public pre-launch draft for ShowMyBio. They do not create a paid service agreement today. Operative terms will identify the contracting legal entity, effective date, governing law, contact details, and any region-specific provisions before public accounts or payments open.
By using a future production account, you will agree to the operative version of these terms and the Privacy Notice. If you use the service for an organization, you must have authority to bind it.
2. Eligibility and accounts
The intended launch service is for people aged 18 or older. You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, use verified contact details, and promptly report suspected compromise. You are responsible for activity performed through your account except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Usernames, profile addresses, and domains may be reserved, rejected, or reassigned when they impersonate others, violate rights, mislead visitors, create security risk, or remain subject to a documented inactive-name policy.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant ShowMyBio a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, copy, transform, cache, display, and distribute that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service and fulfill your settings. This license ends when content is deleted, subject to backups, legal duties, and content already shared outside the service.
You must have the rights and permissions needed for content, fonts, media, marks, data, embeds, and links you publish or connect.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use ShowMyBio to:
- phish, defraud, impersonate, mislead, spam, distribute malware, or facilitate illegal activity;
- publish content that unlawfully threatens, exploits, harasses, discriminates, or infringes another person’s rights;
- evade safety controls, probe non-public systems without permission, overload the service, scrape in violation of access rules, or compromise another account;
- hide a harmful destination behind redirects, QR codes, custom domains, embeds, downloads, forms, or API output;
- collect sensitive visitor information without a lawful basis, appropriate disclosure, and adequate safeguards; or
- resell, clone, frame, or reverse engineer protected parts of the service except where law cannot restrict that activity.
5. Plans, trials, and payment
The fixed launch targets are Starter at USD $5 monthly or $48 annually for one profile, and Pro at USD $12 monthly or $120 annually per five-profile pack. Both are intended to offer a 14-day trial. Checkout is not open while tax display, card requirement, trial conversion, proration, dunning, refunds, cancellation, invoice access, and entitlement transitions are being finalized and verified.
The operative terms shown at checkout will control billing cadence, renewal, cancellation, refund eligibility, taxes, and what happens when a subscription or payment ends. No text on this pre-launch page authorizes a charge.
6. Domains, integrations, and API
You are responsible for domains and third-party accounts you connect. Provider terms, quotas, outages, and content rules may also apply. You must not expose API keys or use the API to bypass plan limits, access another user’s data, or create abusive automated traffic. ShowMyBio may rotate credentials, rate-limit requests, require verification, or disconnect an integration to protect the service.
7. Safety, moderation, and appeals
ShowMyBio may use automated signals and human review to detect harmful destinations, spam, fraud, malware, and other policy violations. We may restrict publishing, block a link, quarantine media, suspend a profile, preserve evidence, or disable an account when reasonably necessary for safety or legal compliance.
Launch requirements include an abuse intake, moderation queue, decision audit trail, emergency kill switch, and appeal path. Exact response targets and retention periods will be published when those channels are verified.
8. ShowMyBio materials and feedback
The service, original interface, code, logo, and documentation are protected by applicable rights. No statement here claims legal clearance of the working ShowMyBio name. The product is independent and is not affiliated with similarly named past or present services. If you submit feedback, you allow us to use it without an obligation to compensate you, while you retain rights in any underlying material you own.
9. Service changes and availability
Features may evolve, and beta or pre-launch surfaces may be incomplete. Material changes that reduce a paid entitlement will be handled under the operative subscription terms. ShowMyBio will aim for reliable service but does not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.
10. Disclaimers and liability
Warranty exclusions, liability caps, indemnity terms, and consumer-law exceptions require jurisdiction-specific review and are intentionally not invented in this pre-launch draft. The operative terms will state them clearly before any paid agreement forms and will not exclude rights that applicable law says cannot be excluded.
11. Suspension, termination, export, and deletion
You will be able to cancel billing and request export or deletion through authenticated account paths once those flows are production-ready. ShowMyBio may suspend or terminate access for material breach, safety risk, fraud, legal obligation, or prolonged non-payment, with notice and appeal where appropriate. The operative policy will explain recovery windows, backups, legal retention, domain handback, and API-key revocation.
12. Governing terms and contact
Governing law, dispute process, legal notices, and the verified support and postal addresses are not final. They will be added after product-specific legal review and before public account access or payment. Until then, consult the support page for channel status and do not send sensitive or legally privileged information to an unverified address.
